Thank you so much for this article. One thing I'm struggling with a bit right now is whether Typekey comments (yes, like this one) provide any backlink benefit.
Understandibly, comments need to be productive and add to the conversation. This said, we all like to get a bit of Google juice for our commenting efforts.
Can you provide some insight into this?

I'm not sure whether Typepad comments are follow or no follow, but it probably doesn't matter because the spiders don't always take any notice :)
Leaving comments does increase your visibility, and backlinks are a very important SEO factor.
