Getting traffic through natural search engine optimization can take a while, yoru site can appear on the first page of Google in a few days. How quickly your site climbs in the search engines depends on a number of factors, including

Some links are more valuable than others. The more links you have from high Google Page Rank sites the better. A link from Blog Talk Radio or You Tube can catapult your site to the first page of Google when you target the right keywords.
If you want traffic while you are waiting you could try pay per click ads. If you choose this route, I recommend that you take it slowly and set a relatively small daily limit while you test your ads. Look at your competitor's ads and learn from them before you start.
